by spotmydive

You are already a Divemaster, you love people, you want to share your passion by providing training to the next divers’ generation, the PADI IDC rank is for you.

Why become a diving instructor?

After starting your professional career as a dive guide and having proven yourself, you are looking to open your business to new horizons. Being a diving instructor will allow you to find a position in any part of the world, to live better from your passion but also to become a very good public speaker.

Is it difficult to become a diving instructor?

The PADI IDC is not a difficult training, but it still requires a certain rigor because of its intensity. Indeed, the training lasts at least 5 days (it is often given over 7 days or more) during which you will learn to give theoretical courses and sessions of development techniques, but also to know how to control dive trips in the natural environment. Motivation and commitment will be your best friends in order to succeed your IDC. Becoming a PADI dive instructor is done in three stages:
– Complete the AI course (Assistant Instructor)
– Participate in Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) training
– Take the instructor exam, otherwise called IE. This final step will allow you to obtain the full level corresponding to the PADI dive instructor.

Succeeding your PADI IDC is possible in a very large number of diving centers around the world. However, each center offers different formulas, rates and schedules. You are probably lost in the face of the large number of offers. To help you in your choice, we decided to present to you what are, for us, the best scuba diving centers where to spend your IDC PADI.

Prerequisites to become a diving instructor?

• Be in possession of your “Emergency First Response – Primary and Secondary Care -”

• Have a medical certificate from a federal doctor, dated less than 2 months old.
