Dive site in Indonesia
Torpedo Alley is in Horseshoe Bay not far from Cannibal Rock. The site is mainly a black sandy bottom – a classic muck dive – scattered with many small critters. In addition to the rays that give the site its name, you can see Harlequin Ghost Pipefish and unusual nudibranchs like Armina semperi. The sandy bottom is lined with many colorful sea pens, and you can easily find small shrimps and other critters on them.
Like all the southern Komodo dive sites, the wall can be quite cold. It was 26°C for my dive. Currrents were not an issue on my dive, but parts of the site are so shallow that you may find yourself ’finning air’ near the end of your dive.
