Diving with Manta Indonesia

This is one of the best dive sites in Komodo national park. It is the best place to dive with manta rays. From September to January, it is not rare to see up to 20 in one dive! Even if the manta rays are not around, the dive is still very good with many reef sharks, wrasses and schools of giant trevallies! Coral is also very beautiful with rich invertebrate life. You will be able to access the dive site all year around.
Manta Alley dive site is located close to the shore of the southern part of Komodo Island. As the name suggests, this dive site features a large concentration of manta rays. The best period to dive with manta ray on the dive site is definilty from september to january as the come for the mating period. You might even be able to see 10 to 20 manta rays at the same time. The rest of the year may not present such good opportunities for swimming with numerous mantas, but the dive can still be very good with many reef sharks around. Wrasses and schools of trevallies can also be seen in local waters. The corals are very beautiful and diverse offering a spectacular background for marine life photography.

When to go

Diving is possible all year round as the average water temperature ranges slightly from 22C/71F to 24C/75F, however, We strongly advise to go there during the ,rainy season from September to January, if you would like to dive with manta ray

What to see

Divers will see magnificent manta rays gliding peacefully in large numbers. Reef sharks, wrasses, giant trevallies and other big fish species can also be seen cruising in beautiful surroundings of pristine corals.
