One of the most beautiful Blue Hole in the world

This dive site, majestic, huge and fabulous is probably one of the best blue hole to dive in the world. It is located off the east coast of Belize on the reef called Lightouse Reef. It is a huge round hole of nearly 300 meters in diameter and 125 meters deep. The site is usually explored to a depth of nearly 45-50 meters in recreational diving. A long time ago, before the ice age, the dive site was a very large dry cavern. Initially closed, its dome collapsed due to the rising waters. The dive spot is particularly known for its fabulous stalactites and stalagmites. The biggest ones exceed the 8 meters. Like most of the major diving sites, it was the commander Jean Jacques Cousteau who discovered it in 1972. Be aware that the site is nevertheless reserved for advanced or level 2 divers since it is only getting really interesting at a depth of 40 meters.

How to get there

From San Pedro, the dive trip on the Blue Hole lasts 3h30. . The departure by boat is therefore generally expected around 6h.
